The Huntingtons announce plans to release new 7-inch on Sexy Baby Records

Baltimore pop punks The Huntingtons have announced they will be releasing a new 7-inch through Sexy Baby Records. The record, which currently has no set release date, will feature the band’s first new material since 2009’s “Punk Sounds” – a compilation of rarities, b-sides, and two new songs.

After playing a sold-out show with Screeching Weasel, Down By Law, and Furious George at Irving Plaza last night, they posted the following message on their Facebook page:

“Mikey forgot to make the announcement so here it is…The Huntingtons will be putting out a 7″ Ep on Sexy Baby Records. More info to follow. The show rocked tonight and every band was awesome! Hope you all enjoyed it guys! Until next time! The Huntingtons!”

We’ll keep you posted as more details on this 7-inch surface. The band’s last release was 2010’s “1-2-3-4!: The Complete Early Years Remastered.”

More Christmas cheer with The Huntingtons’ “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

Baltimore punk act The Huntingtons have posted an original holiday tune entitled All I Want For Christmas Is You (not to be confused with Vince Vance & The Valiants’ version (nor Mariah Carey’s)).  When I first listened to the Huntingtons’ version, I could have sworn that I was listening to 80s rockers the Smithereens–which I was psyched about.

Bend an ear on over to the Huntingtons’ MySpace page to stream a listen, or use these direct download links (right-click > Save as…)  to snag the MP3 (320kbps, 10.2mb) or the FLAC (32.9mb).

The Huntingtons last album, Punk Sounds, was released in July on Knowhere Records.

Huntingtons album “High School Rock” remastered

highschoolrock11 years ago, the Huntingtons released their best selling studio album “High School Rock” and while it was received well by fans, the guys were not 100% pleased with the record. One band member in particular, Cliff Powell (better known as “Cliffy Huntington”) made it a mission to re-create and remaster “High School Rock”. Every year Cliff would ask the bands label, Tooth and Nail, if they could do a remix and every time he was turned down.

5 years ago Cliff took his passion and interest in the art of mastering records and started his own official business: Steinhaus Mastering. Every now and then he would attempt to re-create “High School Rock” and was still never satisfied with the results….until now! Several months ago he came across a “mastering technique”..whatever the hell that is.. that gave the album that extra little oomf it had been missing for so long. He sent it to the guys at Tooth and Nail and it eventually worked its way to the head honcho who then finally agreed to give the new and improved album a digital re-release.

“High School Rock (Remastered)” hits all digital outlets via Tooth and Nail Records on August 11th. It also includes “I Just Want To Have Something To Do”, previously available only as a bonus track on the vinyl version of the record.
