Vacant Lot Entertainment live streaming Punk Rock Social with Sic Waiting, True Rivals, Sarchasm, Fozzy’s Hero, and more; giving away FREE Les Paul Guitar

This Sunday, Vacant Lot Entertainment, Insomniac Productions, and 924 Gilman St are teaming up to bring the SF Bay Area an early day of music, punk rock, and other festivities.

The first ever Punk Rock Social will be taking place at the legendary cooperative/non-profit, all-ages venue 924 Gilman St in Berkeley this Sunday starting at 6pm. It’s an early show with doors opening at 5, so get there early! The lineup will feature SoCal’s Sic Waiting as headliners, with support from LA’s True Rivals, Fozzy’s Hero, local Bay Area favorites Sarchasm, and Blue Anarchy.

As if the line-up wasn’t reason enough to spend an evening in Berkeley, Vacant Lot Entertainment will be giving away a guitar for FREE, signed by each member of all the bands performing. All you have to is buy a piece of merch and you will be entered into a drawing to win a brand new Epiphone Les Paul guitar (special TV yellow color). Pretty rad.

If you can’t make it to the show – don’t fret – the folks over at VLE will be streaming the entire night’s performances live on their YouTube page, starting at 6pm PST. So get the show! But if you can’t, check the whole thing out from the comfort of your living room here.

Fozzy’s Hero and Sic Waiting have some upcoming tour dates, which you can check out below. Also, have a look at a little teaser promotion video VLE did for the event.

See ya in the pit on Sunday at Gilman!

Interview: A Conversation with Vacant Lot Records founder Gregg White; Punk Rock Anti-Social March 6th

Over the Valentine’s Day weekend, I woke up bright and early and headed across the Bay Bridge to Oakland, to meet Vacant Lot Entertainment/Vacant Lot Records Gregg White for a little brunch at the infamous Rudy’s Can’t Fail Cafe. The conversation was full of bloody mary’s, greasy-ass (and delicious) grub, and reminiscence of the good ‘ol days…

Gregg, VLE, and company are gearing up for their very first show in the San Francisco area this next Sunday, March 6th at the legendary 924 Gilman St. venue. Touted as the Punk Rock Anti-Social, the early Sunday show will feature SoCal’s Sic Waiting as headliners, with support from LA’s True Rivals, Fozzy’s Hero, and local Bay Area favorites Sarchasm. As if the line-up wasn’t reason enough to spend an evening in Berkeley, Vacant Lot Entertainment will be giving away a guitar for FREE, signed by each member of all the bands performing. All you have to is buy a piece of merch and you will be entered into a drawing to win a brand new Epiphone Les Paul. Pretty rad.

You can read the whole interview/conversation below, where Gregg and I talk about VLE’s origins and influences, current signings, and what it’s like to run a small, independent record label in the SF Bay Area.

If you’re lucky enough to live in the area, mark your calendars for March 6th for what is sure to be the first of many Sunday shows from the punks over at VLE.

Sarchasm sign to VLE records, announce new EP “Tides”‏

Bay Area punk band Sarchasm have officially signed to VLE Records and will release their new EP “Tides” this Fall.

VLE Records owner Gregg White has released this statement:

“It is truly refreshing to be able work with some of the best young talent our punk scene has been producing over the last decade, and Sarchasm deserves to be recognized on several levels; one being their overall musicianship and songwriting which is nothing short of impressive. Another is the band’s commitment to individuality, tolerance, and unity in the punk rock community, as well as their active involvement and volunteerism at local venues, which really resonated with me. VLE needed a band like Sarchasm on our roster, and we couldn’t be happier to have them.”

Sarchasm – Berkeley, CA are an alternative/punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area, formed in 2010, that crafts their sound around a broad range of influences. From the fast-paced angst-core music of the East Bay punk scene, to the raw alt-pop of Carina Round and the Arctic Monkeys, the band has spent the past few years spreading their emotive indie punk tunes all over the West Coast.

Stream the band’s self released full length album “Help, I Need An Adult” below.
