Brian Marquis releases video for “Say It Ain’t So” (cover)

Boston solo artist Brian Marquis has a new music video up for his cover of Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So,” and you can watch it here.  Marquis also played a stripped-down acoustic version of the song for Dying Scene Sessions last month.

You can find this song on his I Miss the 90s EP, which came out on Equal Vision Records last month.  The album features a guest appearance by Vinnie Caruana (The Movielife, I Am the Avalanche).  Marquis has also released an LP of original songs called Blood & Spirits.

 



Dying Scene Session: Brian Marquis covers Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So” from Warped Tour Headquarters

Happy Hump Day, kiddos. We’re stoked to bring you the latest installment of the recently reincarnated Dying Scene Sessions!

Today’s Session features none other than Brian Marquis. Dying Scene had the privilege of catching up with the Boston native at Warped Tour Headquarters fresh on the heels of his recent surprise release, “I Miss The 90’s.” In the process, he performed a stripped-down cover of the Weezer classic “Say It Ain’t So.” Check out his performance below.

Marquis is slated to head out on this year’s Warped Tour as part of that festival’s Acoustic Basement package. The lineup, curated by Marquis himself, also features the likes of Koji, Grey Gordon, Transit, and a bunch more. Check out the full rundown here.

“I Miss The 90’s” was released by Brian Marquis through Equal Vision Records two weeks ago (May 13th). It’s available in digital, CD and limited cassette tape format, so most of your bases are covered. Check that out here.



Warped Tour 2015 announces Acoustic Basement lineup (Transit, Koji, Brian Marquis, more)

It’s Warped Tour Wednesday again! Today’s announcement brings with it the lineup for the Acoustic Basement. Not sure if it’s the whole Acoustic Basement yet, but the lineup is as follows: Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties, American Opera, Brian Marquis, Buttons, Grey Gordon, Koji, Meghann Wright, Onward, etc., PVRIS (Dates TBD), SayWeCanFly, Speak Low If You Speak Love (7/9-7/14), and Transit.

Tickets for Warped Tour 2015 went on sale last month (December 12th). Get yours online here. The 2015 Warped Tour kicks off June 17th in Anchorage, Alaska, and runs through August 8th in Auburn, Washington.

New Music: Brian Marquis performs two new tracks, Iron & Wine cover for American Roots Sessions

Brian Marquis, solo artist and former member of Therefore I Am, has recently caught up with the folks at American Roots Sessions for an intimate little acoustic performance. In typical ARS fashion, the performance featured two artist original songs and one cover. Marquis performed two brand-new tracks, “Hem & Haw” and “Young and Dumb” as his originals, and took on Iron & Wine’s “Half Moon” as his cover. Check out the full session here.
