Details of final ever Nothington shows revealed

Nothington have revealed details of their final shows. The band will play San Diego and Los Angeles this April, with a final ever show scheduled in San Francisco this June. See what the band had to say about the shows and full details below.

“As many of you are aware, we announced last fall that the band would be calling it quits for good pretty soon. Well, that time is upon us and we have finally pieced together a few last shows in California to say goodbye. We wish that time would permit us to do more tour dates in the United States, but we are already moving on individually with other things, and these will be our VERY last shows ever. So catch one if you can! Thank you, everyone, for your support over the years – can’t express our gratitude enough. Cheers!”

4/12 – San Diego, CA @ Soda Bar (La Escalera Fest)
4/13 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Resident (early show!)
6/8 – San Francisco, CA @ Bottom of the Hill (Final Show)

Nothington announce final European tour dates

Nothington announced back in April that they’re calling it quits at the end of the year. Before that though, the band take in a lengthy European and UK tour.

Full details of dates are below.

Nothington announce European Festival tour dates

Nothington announce split/indefinite hiatus after 2018 and the breaking of my heart

Nothington has announced that they’re calling it good after this year. The band made the announcement on their Facebook page this morning.

The split appears to be amicable, with the announcement stating that came to the decision “simply because we have other musical, artistic, and career-related aspirations to pursue as individuals.”

This year will be the band’s final appearances at The Fest and Punk Rock Bowling. They will be playing their last tours in the second half of 2018 with “a few select dates leading into spring of 2019.”

You can find the full announcement below.

The band’s most recent album, “In the End” was released April 2017 and was one of my top albums of the year. You should definitely try to catch them if they tour near you before the split. I haven’t caught them since a 2007 or so basement show with Off With Their Heads in Minneapolis, and it was easily one of the best shows I’ve been to.

Despite the sting of probably not getting any more material from Nothington, I am definitely looking forward to any projects that will come out of the split.

Nothington Announces European Tour

San Francisco gruff punks, Nothington are taking their talents to Europe this Spring for a month long tour and we asked guitarist/vocalist Jay Northington if he had a message for you lucky Euros. “We had a good time in Europe last year, but at some point y’all ran outta Currywurst, so we decided to leave. Hopefully, you learned your lesson and stocked up for us this time. See ya in April!”  There are no excuses, guys. You have been given two whole months to prepare for their arrival. Get to stuffing those sausages, now! Dates and stops, below!

Red Scare Roundup! (How much punk can you take?)

Our stalwart comrades at Red Scare Industries have plenty going on lately.

If you haven’t heard, Nothington put out their new album, “In the End” in February, and everyone (including myself, and I’m a pretty cool dude, just ask my high school English teacher) thinks it’s great. It’s easily one of my favorites in years.

Red Scare also released a 7″ for the single “Cobblestones” from the new album for Record Store Day. They still have some copies left at the Red Scare webstore.

Speaking of buying rad music that your brain needs, Red Scare has unfurled their mighty bandcamp page, where you can pre-order The Lillingtons upcoming EP, Project 313. It’s their first release in 11 years and is due out in June. The teaser has me.. teased. Check it out below.

DS Photo Gallery & Show Review: Nothington / The Bombpops / Western Settings (The Hi Hat – Los Angeles 3/29/2017)

Jay Northington of Nothington

We imagine that Wednesday night shows are hit or miss in most places, but in Los Angeles, the prospects are even more bleak. However, every once in awhile, there comes a lineup so good that even Humpday can’t put a damper on the turn out. This was one of those shows, drawing an impressively sized crowd that even drew fellow punk artists, with members of Get Dead and True Rivals among the audience. Hell, Dying Scene even had two staffers in the bouse for this one! Read the review and check out the photo gallery (nearly a month after the show…really, AP?) from this incredible mid-week performance below!
