In addition, Mike has decided to run for POTUS himself. Here’s his official notice:

“Hello, my name is Mike Frazier, and I am announcing my candidacy for President of the United States of America.

The President is the highest ranking official in the United States. I don’t think I need to tell anyone that our nation is at a crisis point. The decisions we make now will impact this nation, and the world it inhabits for the centuries that follow. You can feel it in the air of the Rockies, you can hear it in the music on the airwaves, you can smell it in the fields of Virginia, and you can see it in the eyes of the generations rising to prominence: America will change. It is up to all of us to make it for the better. As the highest ranking official in these United States, I will enact lasting change for our children, their children, and the generations that will follow.

I have seen these United States for what they are. I have spoken to individuals from every region. I have heard their thoughts, their concerns, and their plans. I will echo them through the halls of this nation’s capital.

With their voices ringing in my ears, and their images burned into my mind, I begin this campaign. For them, for their loved ones, and for the folks that will follow them.

If you put one name on your ticket this November, make it Frazier.”

Will do, Mike! Check out the video for “Parrot King” below.

Mike Frazier premieres new EP “Virginia Son”

Virginia folk-punk-americana-etc artist Mike Frazier is s releasing his debut EP “Virginia Son” today on Geneva Records. The EP features five tracks harkening back to classic artists like Creedance Clearwater Revival and The Clash, while incorporating the modern styles of artists such as Frank Turner and Hostage Calm. The EP blends rock and roll and punk music while lyrically exploring Frazier’s upbringing in Virginia and how it has affected his worldview.

Frazier says of the album:

“It’s my attempt at coming to terms with my life, and my way of reflecting on the world I exist in. After Random Holiday (Frazier’s former band) broke up, I reevaluated what drove me to want to create music. It lead me back to artists I grew up listening to. I have vivid memories of my parents playing CCR and the rush that those songs gave me. I tried to capture that feeling in my own work, while lyrically pushing myself to write songs that can influence people personally and politically. I just wanted to take the songs that have been scratched into my soul since I was a child and blend them with the punk sound that made me want to pick up a guitar in the first place.”

“Virginia Son” was recorded at Valencia studios with Will Beasley (Turnstile, Dryjacket) in the winter of 2015. Stream the entire thing below!

Mike Frazier (folky-punk-rock-americana) releases music video for “War On Love”

Virginia folk-punk-americana-etc artist Mike Frazier is premiering his new single and music video “War On Love” right here on Dying Scene today. The song is the most recent track, and first video released from Frazier’s debut EP “Virginia Son.” Feast your eyes and ears upon it while you check out Frazier’s upcoming tour dates below!

Of the track, Frazier says,

“I’ve found that in America, we really don’t care what happens to give us the illusion of safety. Politicians and newscasters create pandemonium and use terror as a way to stir news. Americans have this impression that their “freedom” is constantly under attack, so no amount of drone strikes or innocent people tortured or killed can really stir us. We just put blind faith in the people above us and let them run with whatever we think will keep us safe. And this isn’t just from an outside lens. On the home front, we are being fed the same fear propaganda. The things we learn in the classroom, the things we see on television, the things we see in stores and advertisements – they all lead us to believe that we’re in a war for our lives. And they’re right. We are facing a war – a war on compassion, a war on knowledge, and a war on love.

“Virginia Son” is due out August 11th on Geneva Records. and was recorded at Valencia Studios with Will Beasley (Dry Jacket, Turnstile, Brigades). The video was directed and produced by Burke Cullinane.
