Kylewilliam Campol was not found dead at 23

UPDATE: Apparently, somebody thought it would be funny to report to us and other news organizations that Kylewilliam Campol, lead singer of imadethismistake, had passed away at 23 years old. We’re not sure why somebody would make this shit up but we apologize for being duped.

When contacted by the1stFive.com, Campol himself stated. “I am not dead. I’m getting a hair cut.”

Break-up: imadethismistake call it quits

Massachusetts folk-punk group imadethismistake have just announced that they will be calling it quits after their upcoming tour. The band is scheduled to play in the UK over the summer, and they have stated this will be their last string of shows before they disband. Here’s what frontman Kylewilliam Campol had to say about his future,

“I’m working on a retrospective zine that’s going to have lyrics and guitar tabs for every song, stories behind the songs, and that will come with 3 songs I wrote before I decided to give up the band. Those are recorded and just chilling until the zine comes out. Those are the final plans for the band. It’s going to be a nice final goodbye zine, followed by the final tour next year. It’s going to be great.”

I met George Zhen whilst working at a record shop in Lauderhill, FL called Uncle Sam’s. George was one of the owners and we instantly found a connection through music, even though he is literally double my age. I was 16, excited, and he was bordering 40 and looking to do something different. We spent months together in his home studio, The Wild Iris, working on songs. I would bring the skeletons of songs and a ton of lyrics, and we would add layers upon layers of music and samples. The song “Boy with a Broken Jaw” has lyrics that re-appear in a lot of my other songs, and listen for a guest vocal spot by Duane Hosein, formerly of Poison the Well and A Jealousy Issue.

The band’s most recent album Bow & Quiver was released May 11 through Bermuda Mohawk Productions (not up for free download… yet?).
