Blaqk Audio announces new album ‘Material’ and US tour dates

Last month Blaqk Audio released a new song titled “Anointed” but offered little other information such as if the band would be returning to touring status or the name of the album that the song would appear on. However, the time of wondering what the answers to those questions are has come to an end. It’s official, the band’s third album will be titled Material and it will be released on April 15, 2016 through Blaqknoise/Kobalt Records. Pre-order bundles can be found here.

The AFI-side project will also be hitting the road in May, traveling across the US in support of the new album. You can check out the tour dates below.

Blaqk Audio stream new song “Anointed”

Blaqk Audio have released a new song titled “Anointed.” The song is the first song off the electronica duo’s still untitled (but may very well be titled Anointed*) third album, and you can hear it below.

*That’s pure speculation and in no way official.

Blaqk Audio’s last album, Bright Black Heaven, was released in September 2012 on Superball Music. No word on when the new album will be released yet.

Good news for Blaqk Audio fans; album #3 is in the works!

In a new interview that appeared on The Sunset Strip, Davey Havok had this to say regarding the electronica duo that also includes his AFI bandmate, Jade Puget:

And Jade and I, we’re done writing the new Blaqk Audio record; so we should be recording [that] very soon I would hope… And I would imagine that would come out this year as well.

Blaqk Audio’s last album, “Bright Black Heaven,” was released back in September 2012 on Superball Music. No word on why they spelled “black” correctly in the title.



Charity auction announced in honor of Mitch Lucker (Suicide Silence)

As you probably recall, Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker was killed in a drunk-driving related motorcycle accident late last year. In addition to his wife, Jodie, Lucker left behind a young daughter, Kenadee.

In what may be the only bright side to this unfortunate story, the community has bonded together to help support Kenadee in Mitch’s honor. The Unite The United Foundation, started by Kevin Lyman of Warped Tour fame among others, has launched a charity auction in Kenadee’s behalf. Lots of cool items up for bid, including tons of autographed gear from bands like New Found Glory, We Came As Romans, The Used, Blaqk Audio and more. Click hereg to check it out.

Blaqk Audio, the electronica side project of AFI’s Davey Havoc and Jade Puget, will be releasing their  sophomore album, “Bright Black Heaven,” this Fall via their new imprint, Big Death (distributed by Superball Music).

The band states:

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Superball Music for the release of Bright Black Heaven and the premiere of Big Death. To be supported by a label built by true music fans is a refreshing pleasure. Together, we will bring our version of heaven to the world.”

“Bright Black Heaven” will be the follow up to Blaqk Audio’s debut, “CexCells,” that was released on Interscope Records in 2007. The Big Death/Superball Music debut is set for a 2012 release.
