Cover Song: Craig Owens (Chiodos) covers Bikini Kill’s “Rebel Girl” will raise money for charity

Chiodos frontman Craig Owens  has just recorded and released his cover of “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill. It is available to download and purchase, with the proceeds going towards Girls Rock Camp Alliance and Equal Rights Advocates. Owens explains about his charity based release:

“I have always had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and often find myself in books or documentaries on the subject of things far from me physically but close to me mentally and emotionally. During my daily routine of trying to educate myself on things that I was curious about, I heard about a documentary called “Girl Rising.”   Women and girls still earn less for every dollar that men and have barriers to education.   I recorded “Rebel Girl” with Dave Trumfio in Los Angeles in early September.  It was written and originally released by Bikini Kill.  100% of net profits from sales will go directly to Equal Rights Advocates and Girls Rock Camp. Both these organizations continue to help pave the way towards equal rights for girls and women everywhere. Please share, like, purchase or donate directly to the organizations on Rebel Girl song page: https://craigowens.bandcamp.com/ – love Craig.”
