Quietdrive (pop punk) returning after long hiatus!

Minnesota band Quietdrive have announced that they will be active again from this summer. Having been mostly on a break for the past five years, the band have announced they will play Twin Cities Summer Jam in July at Canterbury Park, Minnesota. They have also hinted at new music coming soon as well.

Quietdrive have not put out new music since the largely overlooked studio album ‘The Ghost of What You Used to Be’ in 2014

Quietdrive lose guitarist Justin Bonhiver

Minnesota’s Quietdrive announced today that their guitarist, Justin Bonhiver, will be leaving the group to pursue other endeavors. Check out an emotional letter from Justin here. Dying Scene wishes Justin the best of luck in whatever path he chooses moving forward.

Quietdrive release “C’est La Vie” old demo

According to pop punk band Quietdrive‘s Facebook page, one of the many questions the band receives are about any B-sides and demos.  So, to quell people’s interests, the guys give us an old demo of “C’est La Vie” from their self-titled album, released in 2010 by The Militia Group.  You can check it out right here.

New Music: “Avalanche” off Quietdrive’s upcoming album “Up or Down”

Quietdrive have premiered a new song on their Facebook page called “Avalanche”. The song is taken from the band’s upcoming album “Up or Down”, which will be released on April 24th.

The band’s latest release is the covers album Your Record Our Spin, which came out last year.



New Music: “Lie To Me” off Quietdrive’s upcoming album “Up or Down”

Minnesota pop punk act Quietdrive has just posted the first single off their upcoming new album, “Up or Down”.

The song is entitled “Lie To Me” and can be heard on their Facebook page here.

“Up or Down” is set to be released sometime this Spring through Sneaker 2 Bombs Records, and is the latest material from the band since their covers album, “Your Record Our Spin”, which was released last year.



Video: Quietdrive visits the troops

Minnesota pop-punkers Quietdrive released a video of their recent trip to perform for troops in Iraq. They played the show in December and had previously traveled to the Middle East to perform for soldiers in Iraq in 2009. According to a post on their Twitter, the video was shot with iPhones.

Video: Quietdrive singer, Kevin Truckenmiller, discusses “Just My Heart”

QuietdriveKevin Truckenmiller, Quietdrive’s lead singer, has posted a video on the band’s MySpace in which he discusses the meaning behind the song Just My Heart.  Kevin describes the song as having an Oasis-vibe that deals with the ups and downs of relationships.  In the video, Kevin analogizes how one’s heart constantly takes a beating and acts as kind of an “emotional punching bag” and that the significant other shouldn’t worry since it’s “just my  heart.”

Just My Heart appear’s on the band’s independently-released Close Your Eyes EP, which came out this past October.
