Washington Square Park is no more

First Davy Jones and now this?!?

Sad news from the camp of New Jersey pop-punks Washington Square Park today. It appears the band have decided to call it quits after a four year run. The official quote from their Facebook page reads as follows:

Washington Square Park is dead. 2008-2012

We’re assuming they mean “dead” in the figurative sense, though if anyone in the NY/NJ metropolitan areas wants to take a swing through the Essex County area and check on their well-being, we’re sure it would be appreciated.

The guys at Washington Square Park have been quite busy lately; they released an EP last year and have it available for download here, and they have also been working on a new full-length album which is set to be released in the near future, we hope. In addition to the recording, the touring, the boozing, and all that jazz, the band has just posted a video ‘montage’ of a bunch of their live shows.  Their hit song Ladders is bumping as the background while we watch some crazy trashing, smashing, and crashing punk rock style.
