DS Interview: Catching up with Junior Battles on their recent London tour date

Canadian pop punk legends Junior Battles finally made it across the water to play a two and half week run through Europe. Sam, who shares vocal and guitar duties with Erin, was kind enough to hang out for a chat amongst the beer kegs at the rather splendid New River Studios in London before their one and only UK show.  Thanks to fishouttawater for use of the picture from the show.  Check out the interview below.



Junior Battles and The Run Up announce European tour dates

Toronto punks Junior Battles and Bristol, UK punks The Run Up have announced some European tour dates over the next couple months.

Junior Battles last released a split with Bong Mountain in 2018.  The Run Up last released Good Friends, Bad Luck on September 28th.



Junior Battles streaming song – “I Think It Was Called ‘The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down'”

Junior Battles release music video for new song “Bunk”

Junior Battles have released a music video for a new song entitled “Bunk” and you can check it out below. The whole thing was created using that “Snapchat” iPhone app everyone’s obsessed with.

“Bunk” will appear on Junior Battles’ upcoming album Rally, which is set to be released on May 27th through Paper + Plastick Records. The record will serve as a follow-up to 2011’s Idle Ages.

Junior Battles have released a music video for their current single “Rafts”. The tune comes off of the band’s upcoming sophomore album Rally.

Junior Battles detail upcoming album ‘Rally’; stream new song “Rafts”

Junior Battles have announced some details surrounding their sophomore full length album. The record, which will be titled Rally, will feature 11 tracks and will be released this spring.  The band has also released the album’s first single, “Rafts”.

The Flatliners announce tour dates with Direct Hit! and Junior Battles

Great news for Flatliners fans!

The band announced a handful of headlining tour dates that’ll have them covering the greater Great Lakes region this coming May. Tagging along for the ride will be Direct Hit! and Junior Battles. Check out dates below.

The Flatliners’ latest album “Dead Language” was released back in September through Fat Wreck Chords, who also released the band’s newest 7-inch entitled “Caskets Full” on November 26th.



The Fest adds a lot more bands

The Fest has just announced another huge addition to this year’s lineup:

Hop Along, Adventures, Glocca Morra, Junior Battles, Mikey Erg, PJ Bond (Full Band) , Daggerz, Dan Padilla, Edhochuli, Old Grey, Fighting Fiction, Caseracer, Ex-Boogeymen, Feral Babies (playing BOTH), Jowls, Nato Cole and the Blue Diamond Band (playing BOTH), Nerd Alert, Senders, Sexx, Teen Agers, Good Graces, Rebuilder, Forever Came Calling, Greek Favourites, CLEAVE, Shambles, Bone Dance, Dropout, Send Away Stranger, Zebo, Greg Rekus, Throwing Stuff, Raging Nathans, Holiday, and I Can See Mountains,

They also have two newbie Gainesville all star bands that will be playing FEST 12 this year:

Sunshine State (Warren from Against Me back in action with Mike from The Scaries and Troy from Whiskey &Co./Boneshakers) and grievers (Sergie, Mike, George, Jon. (members of Samiam, Hot Water Music, The Scaries, and Gunmoll)

Get Party Records posts PWYC comp to help with Vet bill

Get Party Records have announced a benefit comp of sorts, to help Reid Skerritt afford an enormous vet bill for his dog Harry, who was mauled by another dog and sustained life threatening injuries. The label said this:
To make a long story short Get Party Records records was going to release this compilation on tuesday for free but a pretty major accident has taken place in my friends life. My friend Reid Skerritt’s dog Harry was mauled by a another dog and left with some very life threatening injury. They have racked up a huge vet bill in 24 hrs so we are posting the comp today as P.W.Y.C. “Pay What You Can”. You can choose to donate what ever amount and we will be giving him the money. Please take the time to repost this for him and I and his poor dog.
