Show Review & Interview: Mischief Brew @ Sunnyvale Brooklyn (1.30.16)

When you hear that Mischief Brew will perform in your town, you make sure you get your ass to that show, even if you were riding in the back of an ambulance that same morning. I spent the better part of that Saturday getting my mom to the hospital, who came down with some severe viral infection, and waiting around as doctors and nurses performed tests and ultrasounds. It didn’t stop me from seeing one of my favorite bands, and I decided I was taking up too much space in the emergency room. I knew I had to go and see Mischief Brew, just to simply get me out of those hospital blues.

The Homewreckers (female fronted pop-punk) stream new album “I Statements”

Brooklyn pop-punk outfit The Homewreckers have recently released their brand new full-length “I Statements on Mooster Records & Nervous Nelly and you can stream it in its entirety below.

With a firm belief that their everyday lives should reinforce the subjects of their songs, each member of the Homewreckers is active in their community. Their volunteerism includes Girls Rock Camp, Queer Rock Camp, and Brooklyn Transcore Collective, a punk collective in Brooklyn that focuses on highlighting transgender artists in counter culture. The band has even contributed income from shows to organizations like the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project, Support NY, Ali Forney Center, Audre Lorde Project, Ferguson Legal Defense Fund, Girls Rock Camp, Queer Rock Camp, Fierce!, and the Black N Brown Punk Show Collective in Chicago.

The band plans to promote the album with a mini tour of New York City, Philadelphia, and New Brunswick this fall. Dates to be announced.

Anti-Flag announce more 10th anniversary shows for “The Terror State”

Anti-Flag have added more shows to the tour they will be embarking on in celebration of the 10th anniversary of their 4th full-length album The Terror State early next year. Joining them on select dates will be Such Gold, The Homeless Gospel Choir, and A Wilhelm Scream.

Anti-Flag last released a career-spanning compilation titled A Document of Dissent on July 22nd through Fat Wreck Chords. They started recording a new full-length album last month.

New Song: The Homewreckers – “Baby, I Can See Your Halo”

New York punk outfit The Homewreckers have released a brand new song titled “Baby, I Can See Your Halo”. The track will appear on the band’s upcoming album I Statements.

The Homewreckers will release I Statements later this year (in February, if the release date on their bandcamp page is accurate).

EP Stream: The Homewreckers/City Mouse split 7″ “Manic Recession”

New York punk outfit The Homewreckers and City Mouse will soon be releasing their “Manic Recession” split via Mooster Records on October 15th (this Monday.) But if you just can’t wait, you can go ahead and stream the entire EP right here.
