The Headies announce tour and new album “Meta-Pop”, stream new songs

This summer The Headies will be releasing their LP “Meta-Pop” on Runner Up Records and embarking on a full US tour to support it. The pop-punk outfit entered the studio with Mike Bardzick (Bouncing Souls, Plow United) in West Chester, PA earlier this year to record the follow-up to a recent split 7″.

The LP will be available as a donation-based digital download on May 28, 2012 – the same day that the record will become available to pre-order. The LP’s release date is set for July 13th, 2012, when the Wilmington, DE-based punk outfit will kick off the two and a half week tour to support the new full-length.

Spraynard and Plow United to release a split album

PA pop-punk group Spraynard and Delaware’s Plow United are planning to release a split album later this year, according to a recent announcement from Runner Up Records.

This past February Plow United stormed onto the radar again by playing at Riot Fest East and releasing a giant retrospective collection through Paper + Plastick. The label has now released The Taking Or The Leaving, the 2nd album by the band’s frontman Brian Mcgee. Spraynard released  their Exton Square EP this April through Asian Man Records.



Bearings post a new track from upcoming split with Directions

Philadelphia pop-punkers Bearings have posted a track from their upcoming split with Directions, which is due out sometime this winter. The track, “False Reverie,” can be found on the band’s Myspace page.

Bearings last released Exist.Expire on Runner Up Records in 2010.



Bearings releasing split with Directions, Confirmed for upcoming Samiam tribute

According to a post from Runner Up Records, Bearings have finished recording a batch of songs from their upcoming split with Directions. The split is set to drop in January followed by a UK tour featuring both bands on the bill. Even more interestingly, they also let on that among the songs is a cover of “How Long” that is to be featured in a as-yet-to-be-announced tribute to Bay Area heroes, Samiam. We’ll keep you posted as details surface from both the split and the tribute.

The band’s split with Directions will serve as the follow up to their debut album, “Exist.Expire”.



Bearings on tour with their new LP “Exist. Expire”

Philadelphia’s progressive punk band Bearings is headed out on their first ever US Tour. On top of that, they’re bringing their new album Exist. Expire along with them. There isn’t a set release date for the record yet, but it’s coming soon on Runner Up Records. As of now you’ll just have to get a copy at one of the shows. To tide you over hit up their MySpace and listen to Summer Solstice, one of the seven tracks off the upcoming release.

runforcoverFireworks has recorded a video for the song “Detroit”, which appears on their latest album “All I Have To Offer Is My Own Confusion” released in March.  No word on when the official premiere date but you can get a sneak peek right here.
