Rev Fest 2017 lineup announced

Legendary indie label Revelation Records will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with this year’s Rev Fest, which will take place at Aurea Vista in Riverside, California from June 29th to July 2nd. Tickets go on sale next Wednesday (March 1st) at 10 AM PST.

Of course, the festival will include an array of Revelation Records alumnus, such as Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Judge, Ignite, Burn, Into Another, a partially-reunited CIV and many more. The rest of the lineup can be found here.

Musings and stuff to watch for at Punk Rock Bowling

Two of our Scenesters are going to Punk Rock Bowling this year with big plans to lose some hearing and party till Memorial Day is yesterday. As one would suspect, they are pretty stoked. We had them write out what they were looking forward to this year to share with you the excitement and spectacle of one of punk rock’s biggest fests. If you plan on going yourself, or just want to gaze longingly from afar, here are some thoughts, musings, hopes, and dreams from our two Vegas-bound writers.

World Be Free (hardcore) premieres video for “Shake the Ghost”

Hardcore supergroup World Be Free has revealed another new song off of their upcoming debut record, The Anti Circle.  Check out the video for “Shake the Ghost” below.

World Be Free features members of hardcore bands Judge, Gorilla Biscuits, and Terror, with a goal of putting a more positive, melodic take on classic hardcore and punk.  Their debut album will be released on February 5th through Revelation Records.

Hardcore supergroup World Be Free recently streamed a brand new song called “Breakout or Busted”. The song is the sixth track off of their upcoming debut album The-Anti Circle and is a testament to all things that embody that classic New York hardcore sound. The band currently consists of members of various veteran hardcore bands including Scott Vogel (Terror), Andrew Kline (Strife), Joe Garlipp (Envy), Arthur Smilios (Gorilla Biscuits), and Sammy Siegler (Judge). The Anti-Circle is scheduled for released on February 5th through Revelation Records.

Dag Nasty in the studio?

Long-running DC punk act Dag Nasty are reportedly in the studio. No word on whether they’re working on new material or not, all we have to go on is an Instagram post by Brian Baker of Dag Nasty vocalist Shawn Brown and Minor Threat/Fugazi front-man Ian MacKaye with the hashtag #dagnasty.

We’ll keep you posted as more information comes to light.

Dag Nasty last released an album of old, unreleased recordings, Dag With Shawn, in 2010 via Dischord Records.

Gorilla Biscuits announce European tour with Modern Life Is War, Touché Amoré and Gwlt

New York hardcore legends Gorilla Biscuits have announced a European tour with Modern Life Is War, Touché Amoré and Gwlt. The tour is titled “TOGETHERFEST” and you can find the dates and locations below.

Other than two new songs they released back in 2006 on the self-titled 7″ single, Gorilla Biscuits have not released a full-length studio album since 1989’s Start Today. Modern Life Is War’s latest album Fever Hunting was released in 2013, while Touché Amoré last released Is Survived By the same year.

Forced Order streaming “New Forms” off upcoming album “Vanished Crusade”

Southern California hardcore punk act, Forced Order, (featuring members Twitching Tongues, Distrace and Soul Search) have announced that they will release their new album, “Vanished Crusade,” on August 7, 2015 through Revelation Records.

Give (hardcore) detail upcoming launch of “The Electric Flower Circus”, announce European tour

Washington, DC based hardcore band Give have announced that their debut LP, The Electric Flower Circus, will be available for order tomorrow, October 28th, and that it will also be available to stream at that time via Noisey.

To promote the launch, the group will be going on a European tour throughout November. You can get more information about the dates and locations of their European gigs on the flyer above.

This follows the news that the group has recently been signed to Revelation Records, although The Electric Flower Circus will be released via Moonflower Records in the US and via Adagio 830 in Europe.

Give previously released several 7″ records, two 12″ records, and a cassette, most of which can be streamed on Bandcamp.

Give (hardcore) signs to Revelation Records

Washington, DC based hardcore band Give have announced that they have been signed to Revelation Records, who will release their upcoming 5-song 12″ later this year.

Give previously released several 7″ records, two 12″ records, and a cassette, most of which can be streamed on Bandcamp. They are also about to embark on a two-week tour with Bane and Code Orange Kids, dates which can be found below.

Soul Search team with Revelation Records for “Nothing But A Nightmare” re-release

Southern California-based, metal-influenced hardcore band Soul Search have announced that they’re teaming with new label home Revelation Records to re-release their “Nothing But A Nightmare” EP. The release originally hit the streets in January of last year via Back To Back Records.

The re-release of “Nothing But A Nightmare” will be newly remastered and will feature all new artwork (that’s the artwork of the original EP over on the top left). No word on an official release date yet, but you can rest assured that we’ll keep you posted.

This Is Hardcore Fest announce lineup for 2014

This Is Hardcore Fest has announced this year’s lineup, which includes Title FightKillswitch Engage, and Converge.

Fell To Low (California punk) sign to Revelation Records, plan debut full-length

Ojai, California-based five-piece punk outfit Fell To Low have a pretty cool announcements today.

The band announced that they’ve signed to the one-and-only Revelation Records as they ready the release of their debut full-length. For the uninitiated, Fell To Low have two 7-inch releases and a 10-inch release under their belt. You can check them all out here. We’ll keep you posted as news of their full-length comes down the pike.

Fell To Low’s last release was their June 2013 7-inch, “Half A Boy’s Life,” released on Dog Family Records.

Title Fight announce two European shows

Pennsylvania punks Title Fight will be heading over to Europe for two shows this spring. Details on exactly when and where the shows will be taking place can be found below.

The band last released an EP entitled “Spring Songs” on November 12th, 2013 via Revelation Records. They will also be making an appearance at Bled Fest 2014 in late May.

Down To Nothing announce Australian tour with Piece By Piece and Relentless

Virginia hardcore group Down To Nothing are returning to Australia for a mini-tour in March. They’ll be joined on all five shows by fellow Americans, Piece By Piece. Australian hardcore act, Relentless, will also play the first four shows on the tour.
