Los Angeles progressive metal-core band Silent Planet have released a brand new music video for a new song called “Orphan.” This track is one off of their forthcoming album Everything Was Sound and it explores topics like mental illness, western vs. eastern politics, the generalization of humans.
The video is a concept piece that follows the story of two men from opposite ends of the world who find themselves in a situation where their understanding of each other ended up being far from the truth. It is an education piece of sorts that looks to illustrate the effects of painting other cultures with a broad and ignorant brush. The visuals and music tie the entire piece together. You can take a look at it below.
Everything Was Sound is scheduled for release on June 1st, 2016 via Solid State Records.

We don’t have an awful lot to go on here from a details standpoint, but it looks like Ohio post-hardcore band Wolves At The Gate are setting themselves up for another busy year. The four-piece announced today that they’ll announce a brand-new album today through their label home, Solid State Records.
The as-yet-unnamed release will be the band’s third studio album. If you’re keeping score at home, Wolves At The Gate just released an EP, “Reprise,” via Solid State last year. Their last full-length, “VxV,” came out in June 2014.

Reprise will include six tracks, performed full-band acoustically. Five will be new renditions of fan-favorites, and the final track will be a brand new song (which potentially will be re-recorded for the band’s upcoming full-length). The new renditions each feature guest vocalists, friends/touring mates of Wolves at the Gate.
According to vocalist/guitarist Steve Cobucci: “this isn’t something new for us. Usually when I write a song, I do it first on acoustic guitar so it’s never been a stretch for us. There have been times where we have decided to do an impromptu acoustic set after a show or during a set; it’s something we like to do at times.” The new song “Waste” is “a metaphorical song about a pirate who is shown great mercy by the king in his pardoning of all crimes against the kingdom. Who in return sets sail again to tell other marauders of a good king who is merciful to all who come to him. In essence this song was written to explain why we preach the Gospel in our music and at shows.”
The band last released VxV last June through Solid State Records.

Recently reunited Christian metalcore band Haste the Day have announced that they are using indiegogo to help fund their new album, which is due for release next year, and will be the band’s first since 2010’s Attack of the Wolf King. The band wrote:
“As is the case with all things in life: if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right! So we spent a lot of time determining the best way to make our 6th full-length studio album. Who would write, who would perform, how would we involve all members of the band in the project in one way or another? You see, we are all friends & brothers and so we wanted to give all the guys an opportunity to participate in one way or another. At the same time, we want to make the best album we can, one that would thrill fans of all eras of Haste the Day. So, here’s the scoop: Stephen, Jimmy, Brennan, Scotty, Mike, Giuseppe will be the core writers for the new album, which has yet to be named. Dave will be providing additional writing input as well as helping with guitars and guitar tone during the recording process. Stephen will be producing the album, which we will record in Nashville, Tennessee.”
Haste the Day broke up back in 2010, releasing a CD/DVD entitled Haste the Day vs. Haste the Day a year later through Solid State Records.
