It’s been far too long since we heard new music from Boston four-piece punk outfit Choke Up, but your pals here at Dying Scene are stoked to help change that. The band have got a brand new album, Stormy Blue, due out at the end of next week (September 15th) on Say-10 Records.
To mark the occasion, we’ve teamed up to debut the new track, “Roadside Graves.” Here’s what Choke Up’s Sam Johnson has to say about the track:
“Roadside Graves starts side B of Stormy Blue. I think for all the distance we tried to put between this record and everything that came before, Roadside acts as a pretty good bridge, connecting our fast and loose punk rock past to a more pop forward present. Lyrically it’s a powder keg moment on the album; when everything erupts and you’re left looking the damage you’ve done. Stormy Blue really hinges on this track and it’s quickly become a new favorite of ours. Fun fact: it’s the first song we ever wrote in 3/4.”
Check out the lyrical powder keg below.
Pre-orders for Stormy Blue are available here. The album marks the band’s first since their debut full-length, 2015’s Black Coffee, Bad Habits.
