Municipal Waste announce Toxic Revolution Ale (yes, ale)

Speed metal punks Municipal Waste have announced their Toxic Revolution Ale, the band’s own beer through artisan craft brewery Three Floyds.

“Toxic Revolution was borne of relentless experimentation, ancient alchemy, and hatred,” said the guys at Three Floyds. “Hatred of uninspired, flavorless beer.”

The brewers describe it as “American style oatmeal stout perfect for winter shred sessions.  Black as night and creamy on the palate with fruity, tropical hop notes balanced with roasted and chocolate malt.” It’s 8.5% ABV.

The beer will be available starting March 11 through any of Three Floyds’ usual channels. You can also get it on tap at at the Three Floyds pub in Munster, Indiana.

Here’s what MW drummer Dave Whitte had to say about this opportunity,

“I am thrilled to be a part of The Vans Parade as it not only features some of the most talented skaters and BMX people going – which I have the utmost respect for, growing up a BMX rider pre-drumming – but I’ve also worn slip-on VANS while drumming for about 20 years. For me, they are the ultimate drumming shoe. Viva VANS!”

Rob Caggiano leaves Anthrax

Rob Caggiano, who has been the lead guitarist for NYC thrash outfit Anthrax since 2001, has finally decided to call it quits.

Here’s what Rob had to say,

…It’s been a wild ride (to say the least) from Day One and I wouldn’t change one single thing about the last 12 years. This is an extremely difficult and emotional decision for me to make but my heart is just steering me in a different direction right now. I’ve always been one to follow my heart in everything that I do and while this might be one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, it feels like the right one for me at this time…

Rob already has his hand in several other projects including The Damned Things, The Agony Scene, Ill Niño, and grammy nominated Cradle of Filth album, “Nymphetamine.”

Anthrax still plans to tour with Exodus, Hell on Fire, Municipal Waste and  Holy Grail in the upcoming future, but for now they are considering many options for Caggiano’s replacement. It is rumored that Dan Spitz has been asked by fans to rejoin the band. Spitz was apart of Anthrax from 1983 – 1995 and 2005 – 2007.

Music Video: Municipal Waste – “You’re Cut Off”; heading out on European tour

I love animated videos because they let you get away with a lot more than regular videos. This is definitely the case with Municipal Waste‘s newest music video. The Virginia punks have just released a new, bloody music video for their song, “You’re Cut Off”, which appears on the band’s latest album, “The Fatal Feast”. Here’s what Municipal Waste singer Tony Foresta had to say about the video,

We’ve always wanted to see an animated Waste video and this blew away our expectations…I’m stoked that the Wizard came out of his brief retirement to make an appearance as well. I’ve watched this thing over 40 times and I still keep finding hidden gems. If you hated our band before, you are really going to hate us after you witness this beautiful piece of work.

Check it out here, and see the carnage firsthand.

Municipal Waste are playing tonight in New York – the band’s last US show before they head over to Europe for the rest of the summer. Check out the complete list of tour dates and locations here.
