Band Spotlight: Anchors

With the internet these days, sometimes it’s just easier to be a hater. Harsh words are easy to find when sitting in front of a keyboard in nothing but a pair of jocks.  True story.  Yet in amongst the need for anonymous cynicism, Melbourne’s punk outfit, Anchors, are teaching the internet and stereos, just who is the boss around here. If you like punk as it should be then welcome to your new favorite band! It’s ridiculously fast, it’s scarily relevant, it’s a little rough around the edges but it’s still going to be the best punk rock you’ve heard all week. They’ve even offered up their new track, “We Are Oscar Mike”, for free download along with an old three track EP, “Songs For Lily”, on their MySpace Page.  So get to it!  Check it out, non-believer.
