Bayside offer limited edition t-shirt to benefit NY Red Cross

Queens, NY-based Bayside have announced plans to do their part and pitch in to support disaster relief in their hometown in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The band have unveiled a limited edition hurricane relief t-shirt. Pictured in the upper left corner of this story, the t-shirt is available to purchase at the band’s merch website. All proceeds will benefit the Greater New York American Red Cross. Click here to get your own.

While you’re at it, here’s the band’s official statement:

“Most people are aware by now of the effects that Hurricane Sandy had on areas of the Northeast. The images and commentary have already become unavoidable on the news and on social networks. The four members of Bayside all call Long Island, Queens and Manhattan home. These were some of the most heavily damaged areas. We have friends and family members that have died, had damage to their houses or lost power as a result of the storm. Needless to say, we have been severely affected by this storm and being on the road right now, stuck watching the terrible images on television with everyone else has us feeling helpless.

We decided the best way that we could help our families and friends and the families and friends of others is by offering our platform as a means to raise money. Millions of people are without power, thousands have been displaced with billions of dollars in damage. We’re offering a shirt in our webstore right now where all proceeds will be donated to the Greater New York American Red Cross. It’s a great way for everyone around the country to help in the relief effort.

Our friends, families and neighborhoods mean everything to us and they have always been there for us. We want to be there for them. Help us do that.”

Bayside have more cover albums in the works

Bayside‘s Anthony Raneri has confirmed that the band will definitely be releasing more cover albums in the future in a short interview.

The record title is rendered Volume 1. Are there plans to do more volumes?

Definitely. We meant for that to put in people’s minds that this is a “thing” we’re going to be doing. It’s something that will be addressed in the contract negotiations with the next label whether the label puts it out or we can retain the rights to release cover EPs. I’d love for it to be a part of our next contract, but if that’s not what happens, there’s gotta be something in there that’s agreeing to [let us] release our cover records.

You can read the full interview here.

The band will be releasing their latest EP “Covers” next month.
