Continental adds more tour dates with The Tossers

Continental hails from Quincy, on the outskirts of Boston, MA, but you’d hardly know it thanks to their prolific touring schedule.  The band just announced that they are hitting the road again this spring, and some dates will include Celtic punk act The Tossers.  You can check out the newly-added dates below.

Continental most recently released Millionaires last October via East Grand Record Company.



Continental announce new tour dates

Punk spinoff Continental, project from Rick Barton (ex-Dropkick Murphys, Everybody Out!), has announced a string of tour dates through the spring.  The band will start by playing support Irish favorites The Tossers (dates here), then rockabilly king Reverend Horton Heat (dates here).   It’s also looking like a summer tour is in the works with the Mahones with a huge potential date list.

Far From Finished release new song “Mother Mercy”; announce European tour dates

Boston punk band Far From Finished has released the first single from their forthcoming EP, Let’s Be Frank. The song is titled “Mother Mercy” and is available to stream or download. The band has also announced a string of European tour dates on what they have dubbed the “Let’s Be Frank Tour”.

Let’s Be Frank is set to be released on March 8th through Flix Records.

Orange County punk rock act The Sparring have just released the music video for their song “Straitjacket.” Check it out here!

“Straitjacket” is off the band’s upcoming EP “Rise Up” which will be released sometime this spring.



Continental and The Business teaming up for December US tour dates

Continental, the most recent project of guitarist Rick Barton (formerly Dropkick Murphys and Everybody Out!), have announced a handful of tour dates for December, kicking off in their hometown of Boston. All dates will feature legendary UK Oi! band The Business. Click here for the short rundown.

Massachusetts’ Far From Finished have started recording new music.

No further information has been provided but we’ll keep you updated.

Far From Finished’s latest album is their 2010 record “Forgettable”, which was released through Old Shoe Records.



Continental recording their first full length album

Led by Rick Barton (originally of Dropkick Murphys), the epic Continental from Boston, Massachusetts have begun recording their debut full length record!

“Good evening, world of Facebook!” the announcement read a few weeks back.  “We have good news, and it has nothing to do with the Republican primaries… We begin recording our very first full length album this week! If that’s not news, then we don’t know what is”.  No release date or album title is available as yet, but you might be able to catch some new material on the band’s winter tour.

Continental’s debut release was the “Death of a Garage Band” EP that came out on Old Shoe Records in 2010, and it was one of my favorite records of the year.



DS Exclusive Interview: Far From Finished discuss touring, lineup changes, and getting wet in Montana

Last Friday I was able to get out of work in time to catch a little bit of Far From Finished‘s set at The Blank Club in San Jose, California. The guys followed Anti-Social, and warmed the stage for the legendary Swingin’ Utters.

After the show, I got the chance to do a little impromptu interview with vocalist Steve Neary and lead guitarist Dave Siegel of Far From Finished. In the interview the guys discuss their origins, the songwriting process, and their adventures in Montana among other topics.

Flatfoot 56 weigh in on professional wrestling, announce tour with Mustard Plug

It’s not too often that the respective worlds of punk and sports collide, so when they do, it’s usually worth writing about. Chicago celtic/punk favorites Flatfoot 56 have recorded two songs for the WWE wrestlers Johnny Curtis and Sheamus. Click here to listen to “I Told You So” and “Written In My Face.”

Hardcore punks Death Punch and The Sparring have released a studio update video, which documents the recording process for their upcoming split, “Round 1.”  It’s full of stuff that’ll make you laugh your ass off as well as a few sneak peaks at new songs being recorded.  Check it out here.

Death Punch to release split with The Sparring on Old Shoe Records

On August 9th Los Angeles based hardcore act, Death Punch, will be releasing a split release entitled “Round 1” with Punk-n-Roll act The Sparring via Old Shoe Records. The split will feature three new songs from each band.

Flatfoot 56 adds Midwest and East Coast tour dates

Throughout the past month or so, Chi-town celtic punks Flatfoot 56 have been slowly announcing more and more tour dates. The recently-added dates include stops in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. For information on these dates and more, head over to the band’s tour page.



Tour: Flatfoot 56 announces even more dates

It seems like we never get big tour announcements from Chicago celtic-punks. Rather, we get small show announcements every week. But hey, that’s okay, that’s okay.

The band has extended their tour well into the summer, with dates ranging from the East Coast to the Midwest to Europe. Find out if they’ll be near you by visiting their tour page.

They’ll be playing a ton of headlining shows, in addition to a variety of festivals. Joining them will be Roger Miret and The Disasters, Street Dogs, and the The Mahones, to name just a few.
