Yesterday Strung Out announced in a surprise post on their Facebook page that they could be embarking on a tour next year with The Offspring, who plan to tour once their new album is finished. The band wrote,
“Ok, so there is this poll about who the Offspring should tour with next year and we are on there so, do us a favor and click a vote for Strung Out. It would be fun to tour with the Offspring again and if this will help, sweet. Simple and easy so, vote away please!” If you would like to vote for Strung Out as a supporting act for The Offspring’s upcoming tour, click here.
If the tour was to happen, it wouldn’t be the first time Strung Out and The Offspring toured or shared a show together. They shared at least two shows together back in 1994, when they were celebrating the releases of their respective albums Another Day in Paradise and Smash. Strung Out (along with AFI) toured with The Offspring again in 1997 as an opener on their Ixnay on the Hombre tour. Both bands were also part of the 2005 Warped Tour.
This coming Friday, Strung Out will begin a mini-California tour with Jughead’s Revenge, who reunited last year. They have also been confirmed for next year’s Soundwave Festival in Australia, with Bad Religion and The Menzingers on the bill. As for The Offspring, the band has been in the studio for nearly a month recording their follow-up to 2008’s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.
