The Replacements consider making first album in 24 years

Rolling Stone is reporting that The Replacements have considered putting out a new album in the future. Not many details were given, but frontman Paul Westerberg claims to have written some songs that may end up on the album, such as “Are You In It for the Money?” and “Dead Guitar Player”, the latter of which he claims was written before their former guitarist Slim Dunlap suffered a paralyzing stroke.

Last year, The Replacements released the covers EP Songs for Slim, which was made to help pay medical bills for their former guitarist Slim Dunlap. Their last full-length studio album, All Shook Down, was released in 1990, a year before their split.
