According to Gigwise.com, Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt revealed in an interview with MTV that the band might embark on what may be the longest tour in punk (or pop punk) history. Mike suggested that they might embark on a 3,000 date tour to support their upcoming albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré!, and had this to say:
“The full tour, we’ll probably do about 3,000 shows. Right now, we’re just warming up and getting ready to go out there, start swinging. The sky is the limit right now. We’re just going to keep going. We want to play a lot of small clubs, a lot of theaters, a lot of arenas, and then who knows what else.”
The first album in the trilogy, ¡Uno! arrives on September 25th, while ¡Dos! comes out on November 13th and ¡Tré! will be released on January 15th of next year. The band plans to release two documentaries as well. Stay tuned for details and updates as they become available.
