For those of you who were listening to punk and ska (or even the radio) in the mid 90’s, you know who Reel Big Fish are and you probably remember their debut album, Turn The Radio Off, quite fondly. Well, believe it or not, the band is still around and announced today that they will be recording a new full-length album this Fall. The band also states that they will be releasing a “best of” album next month (July). You hardcore Reel Big Fish fans are probably thinking to yourself, “didn’t these dudes already do that?” Yes, they did. But apparently they didn’t choose the songs. Their old label Jive did and the band wasn’t happy with the what got put out so this time they’re doing it themselves. The release will contain 2 discs – one with 22 of their greatest hits and another with 14 “fun and interesting acoustic versions”.
Reel Big Fish released a covers album titled Fame, Fortune, And Fornication last year on Rock Ridge Music.
