Southern California punk legends Social Distortion have announced that they will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their classic self-titled third album by performing the album its entirety during their upcoming European tour, which begins in April and will be supported by Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas and guitarist Jonny “Two Bags” Wickersham‘s solo band.
Social Distortion was originally released on March 27th, 1990 on Epic Records, and was the band’s first release on that label. The album initially only achieved moderate commercial success, peaking at number 128 on the Billboard 200, but the successful singles “Story of My Life” and “Ball and Chain” led the album to be certified gold.
Social Distortion recently announced plans to enter the studio to work on a new album, which will be their first since 2011’s Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, but did not indicate a release date. We’ll keep you posted as more details on the new record come to light.
