The Ataris posted an update in the comments section of their latest post on Facebook about their forever-delayed new album The Graveyard of the Atlantic, which is expected to be released later this year or next year. One of the members of the band (supposedly Kris Roe) wrote:
“Have around 20 songs recorded including the four posted. That means all the music for those 20 are completely finished. Vocals finished for around six of those. Then as of the last year or so since losing my father and some other things that have inspired me I have written a large handful of additional songs. (Roughly 15 or so more) I plan to record some of those and finish vocals to some of the best of the first batch. That leaves a lot of good B-sides and tracks leftover for 7″ vinyl releases and to carry a few over into the future. Goal is to do some recording as soon as we return from Europe. And that basically is where we are at. Thanks for the question.”
The Ataris, who recently reunited the So Long, Astoria lineup, released their last album Welcome the Night in 2007.
