Well, this may not come as a shock, but Reggie’s, the Chicago club that was going to host Weasel Fest, announced that the event is canceled (scroll way down on that page to find the info). There’s no word yet on refunds for purchased tickets, but the venue does say they will try to re-schedule some of the other bands to play solo shows.
After Ben Weasel was caught on video assaulting a female fan, some bands who were slated to play Weasel Fest, including Teenage Bottlerocket, The Soviettes, Chinese Telephones and Banner Pilot pulled out of the event. In addition, the rest of Screeching Weasel quit playing as a band altogether. Weasel Fest was supposed to celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary.
