The Avengers formed in San Francisco in 1977, released an EP “We Are the One” and opened for the Sex Pistols at their infamous Winterland show before breaking up without releasing an album. Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols released an Album of Avengers recordings in 1983. The Avengers reformed briefly in 1999, then from 2004 have been playing and recording fairly frequently with original members Penelope Houston and Greg Ingraham.
