Washington, D.C. hardcore icons Bad Brains have announced that they will enter the studio later this month to record a new EP in Woodstock, New York in front of an audience of 60-70 people. For the recording sessions, which will last only one day, Jamaican singer Jesse Royal will be filling in for H.R. on vocals, and the EP will be part of a series of similar recording sessions called The Woodstock Sessions.
Bad Brains have not released a statement whether H.R. is out of the band, or will be involved in the recording of their next studio album, which will be their first since 2012’s Into the Future. We’ll keep you posted as more details on H.R.’s status with Bad Brains come to light.
