Bad Religion, The Offspring and Rancid albums listed among Guitar World’s Best Guitar Albums of 1994

Bad Religion, The Offspring and Rancid albums listed among Guitar World’s Best Guitar Albums of 1994

Remember this article from two weeks ago that The Offspring and Bad Religion‘s albums cracked the top 5 in Guitar World magazine’s Best Guitar Albums of 1992 list? Well, they just published the final results of what was the “Best Guitar Album” of 1994, and I gotta admit, they are more surprising but interesting than the 1992 list.

As you might expect given that it was Guitar World running the poll, the final list features not just metal or alternative albums, but three punk rock albums joined the ranks and one of them made an unexpected #1, and that’s… Bad Religion’s Stranger Than Fiction! The Offspring’s Smash came in second, while Rancid’s Let’s Go hit #8. Congratulations to all those bands. How do you think GW readers did? We think they may have left a few off. If you think there’s at least one best “guitar album” from 1994 that could have made it on the list, throw in your comments here.

1. Stranger Than Fiction by Bad Religion
2. Smash by The Offspring
3. Weezer by Weezer
4. Jar of Flies by Alice in Chains
5. Superunknown by Soundgarden
6. Far Beyond Driven by Pantera
7. Youthanasia by Megadeth
8. Let’s Go by Rancid
9. Monster by R.E.M.
