Happy Wednesday morning, gang! We’ve got some pretty cool new music to present you with today!
SoCal melodic punk vets Down By Law recently gathered together in-studio and cranked out updated renditions of more than a dozen tracks from their back catalog. The resulting product is a new album due out this Friday. Titled Quick Hits: Live In Studio, it’s a pretty representative snapshot of their three-decade-long career, and features “No Equalizer,” “Bright Green Globe,” “Gruesome Gary,” “Boredom” and, of course, their killer cover of The Proclaimers “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).”
Quick Hits also features a previously-unreleased track called “Late Bloomer.” Here’s what Down By Law guitarist Sam Williams had to say about the track: “An otherwise unreleased tune that we put together. I remember back in the day there was a song on Live At Budokan by Cheap Trick that included a song that was nearly impossible to find a studio version of. I thought that was pretty cool to have a ‘live only’ song.”
For the very first time anywhere, you can check out “Late Bloomer” below!
Quick Hits is out October 4th on Kung Fu Records. Pre-orders are still available here!
