Well here’s a story I didn’t expect to write this evening…
According to the Boston Herald, Ken Casey, bass player/vocalist (and founding member) of Boston Celtic punk act Dropkick Murphys has been named to incoming Boston mayor Marty Walsh’s transition team. Specifically, Casey has been appointed as an adviser on Walsh’s economic development team.
It’s worth mentioning that in addition to his duties in the Dropkicks, Casey also owns a popular Boston bar (McGreevy’s) and helps run a successful charitable foundation (The Claddagh Fund).
Good on ya, Ken.
