Here’s some so/so news for all of you Pussy Riot advocates. According to an article on an “actual” news site that reports on things other than music, Yekaterina Samutsevich (one of three members which were arrested) had her case appealed before a Moscow court earlier today. “Why is this so/so news?” you might ask. Well, the other two band members, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, are still set to serve the remainder of their prison sentences.
Here’s an excerpt from the article where Maria Alyokhina voices her opinion on the court’s decision:
“We are in jail for our political convictions,” Alyokhina commented after the decision. “Even if our sentences are upheld, we will not be silent. Even if we are in Mordovia or Siberia, we will not be silent, no matter how uncomfortable it is for you.”
We’ll keep you posted as more details on Pussy Riot’s ongoing case surface.
