The Offspring will be releasing a special edition of their iconic album Smash in honor of its 20th anniversary, which falls today, April 8th. The special edition will be shipped in mid-August. You can pre-order it here.
On the making of Smash, frontman Dexter Holland commented to OC Weekly:
A lot of the bands were great back then and made great songs but didn’t necessarily have a lot of melody, and that’s what we were trying to do, combine those two things.
The Offspring’s latest release was Days Go By, which was dropped in June 2012. The band, which is currently unsigned, began working on new material with producer Bob Rock last summer.
