Tony Sly of No Use For A Name has passed away

A truly sad day in punk rock today as Fat Wreck Chords has just announced that Tony Sly, front-man for long running punk act No Use For A Name, has passed away.  Details are sparse at the moment.  So far, the only information about Tony’s death has come from the following statement on the Fat Wreck website:

It is with great sorrow that we must say goodbye to Tony Sly of No Use For A Name. We received a call earlier today of his passing, and are devastated. We have lost an incredible talent, friend, and father – one of the true greats. Fat Mike had this to say: “One of my dearest friends and favorite song writers has gone way too soon. Tony, you will be greatly missed.”

We’ll keep you posted as details surface.  Until then, everybody should go play their favorite NUFAN album in memory of a great and talented figure in punk rock.
