So we all know by now that later this year – October 6th to be exact – the fearsome foursome that is NOFX will officially hang up their collective ball gags and call it a career, at least from a live, touring standpoint. (Don’t worry, you’ve still got plenty of chances to see them for the last time, starting a week from now in Japan.) Today, the band announced details for a “new” EP entitled Half Album. I say “new” because some of it will sound familiar to astute listeners, and also because it’s described by Fat Mike himself as “the five songs on my double album project that I thought were the worst of the bunch.” That double album was of course the band’s 2022 release Double Album, which was, of course, the follow up to 2021’s Single Album. It’s all so quintessentially Fat Mike, isn’t it?
ANYWAY, Half Album is due out April 19th on Fat Wreck (duh) and you can pre-order copies starting today and you can check out the video for lead single “I’m A Rat” below and judge for yourself if it was worth putting these finishing touches on the worst songs from the last five years of Fat Mike’s writing. Also, we’re told that this won’t be the last NOFX release, just the beginning of this stage of the end. So…stay TOONED!
