Green Day to be inducted to Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame by Fall Out Boy

We’ve known since December that 1990s pop-punk stalwarts Green Day are headed to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and now we know who will be inducting said Bay Area three-piece into said Hall of Fame. That honor(?) has been bestowed upon…Fall Out Boy. Sounds about right, I guess…

Today also brought with it the announcement that Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Patti Smith, Peter Wolf, John Mayer and Steve Cropper will be joining Pete Wentz & Company as the other inductors, and they’ll be inducting Ringo Starr, Bill Withers, Lou Reed, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Stevie Ray Vaughan and The “5” Royales, in that order. For whatever reason, event organizers didn’t announce who’d be inducting Joan Jett and The Blackhearts into the Hall. Weird.

The 2015 Hall Of Fame induction ceremony takes place April 18th at Cleveland’s Public Hall, and it’ll air on HBO on May 30th.
