Washington, DC ska-punks Kill Lincoln recently announced they will unfortunately be going on an indefinite hiatus following the tour they are currently on, stating that “it wasn’t an easy call for any of us to make and one that’s been in process for a long while, but it’s the best thing for us right now.” The band’s statement can be read in its entirety below.
Kill Lincoln last released an EP titled Good Riddance To Good Advice on March 3rd through Jump Start Records. Their sole full-length album That’s Cool…In A Totally Negative And Destructive Way was released in 2013 on the same label.

“We’ve been putting this off for a while now, hoping for a good time to say something… But are realizing that there’s never really a good time for announcements like this. So here goes.
Tour has been amazing, and we can’t wait to get back to DC for our 4/4 Black Cat show. But sadly, that will be our last DC show for the foreseeable future.
We’ve been a band for about 8 years and have done and seen some amazing things, traveled the entire country, met incredible people, played with great bands, and have made some friends for life. We love this band, the music, the people that support us, the DC community we’ve helped bring together, and each other like brothers. However, we’re all at a critical crossroads in our lives personally, creatively, and professionally and are, quite literally, moving in different directions. I (mike) will be moving to the west coast this spring to be closer to my family, and Hotez will be making a similar move to Houston TX. While I hate when bands say this… “Hiatus” seems like the best word to describe what’s happening to Kill Lincoln. It wasn’t an easy call for any of us to make and one that’s been in process for a long while, but it’s the best thing for us right now.
That said… There’s good news. We’re not dead. We’re not going away forever. 4/4 will be our “last” DC show, but don’t be surprised if you see us again at the end of the year for something big. And we’ve actually got a very cool announcement coming soon for something later this year. Plus… we’ve got a whole week of tour left, DC, 3 more east coast dates in two weeks, and even something very cool planned for May before we take off for a while.
We know this sucks and seems sudden, but we don’t want to keep it from you guys anymore. You don’t know how much your support means to us, and me personally. We’ve been able to do more with this band than I ever imagined, and it’s all because of you guys. We’re eternally grateful, and promise this isn’t the very end. Just… A big ol speed bump that’s gonna take some time to get over.
There’s a lot more we could say, but this is a good place to start. Anyway… DC friends… We promise 4/4 will be a night to remember. Really hope to see you there.
