Strike Twelve Bio:

There's a lot of different ways to attack a bio and none of them are going to mean anything to you if you've never heard of us or seen us. Come to a show and see for yourselves that "Strike Twelve" in the lineup means you're going to have some fucking fun times. That being said, here's our bio:

The three of us - Matt Turek (guitar/vocals), Joe Treister (bass/vocals), and Dan Bahou (drums) - have been great friends since 2000 when we were all sophomores in high school. We met through a common love of fast, energetic music and a desire to beat the shit out of our instruments together. We play music because it gets our adrenaline going and allows us to share our excitement and good times with those around us.

We take the DIY work ethic to a new level. We have a home studio in which we do all our recordings (with the exception of our "Born Naked, Die Naked" EP for which professional studio time was graciously provided to us free of charge). We do our own promotion, websites, tour booking (so far everywhere in a 500 mile radius), and write our own bios. Even our promo photographs were self-taken using a tripod and timer. We've learned the hard way that the only way to ensure things happen is to do them yourselves so we embrace it. Anything to keep doing what you love.

Now, eight years later, we're joined at concerts by my younger brother Andy who shreds on second guitar. We released our 4th CD in January '09 - the 16-song "Killing California" - which is available at all our shows. In the meantime, we're just looking to play any and all shows we can get our hands on, and to meet new people and bands that are helping keep the scene alive.
