Deviates set to reform after 8-year hiatus?

Deviates are apparently set to get back together after an 8-year hiatus. The band, who called it quits back in 2003, just posted an announcement on their Facebook page stating that a new album and tour for next year are in the works. The band simply wrote:

“The eight year break is over and we’re back from the dead. We plan to release a new album and tour next year. Deviates rise again!”

The band has given no further more information regarding their reunion, except their Facebook page states that it will feature best known lineup of Brian Barbara (vocals), Charley Marshall (guitar), Damien McDougle (bass), Donnie Conrad (drums).

Deviates released their last studio album Time Is the Distance in 2001 on Epitaph Records.

UPDATE: After numerous emails from fans it looks like this could be a hoax.  Though why somebody would go through all the effort of creating a fake FB and Twitter account for the band just to announce some fake news is beyond us.  We’ll remain hopeful but await further confirmation…

Well, if you click on the Facebook page, it says “Official Facebook page of Deviates”, so it looks like the reunion is true or maybe it is.
