DS Exclusive: At Face Value Premieres Video for “Cinderella” From Upcoming EP

Baltimore, Maryland’s At Face Value (formally just Face Value) has a new album coming out later this Spring and to get you hooked, they sent over the debut music video from the upcoming EP Ivy & Echo. When we asked the lads about the video for the song, bassist Grayson Ross told us “’Cinderella’ was our first jab at writing a lighthearted party song. We came to a consensus that most of our songs are pretty sad or angry, so we wanted to mix it up. In the past, any attempt at writing a ‘merry’ song, seemed so cheese-ball. So, I started with the line ‘Tonight I’ll be, out back kicking it with old friends, listening to every song you can’t stand’. From there it formed into this loose story about getting over a negative situation through friendship. The name ‘Cinderella’ is an inside joke because I kept confusing our interim song title, ‘Skippity-BAM-BAM’ with ‘Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo’, which is how we got to ‘Cinderella’. We wanted a sort of Cinderella story with the video. We had a parkour gym location with Walmart animal mask, and just combined these in a cauldron with a hint of “The Wiggles” and what came out was this crazy, wonky, fast video.” Check it out below!
