In addition to taking on teaching duties at Cornell this fall, Bad Religion front man Greg Graffin has a species of ancient bird named after him.
Paleontologists in London discovered the bird in Gansu Province of China and named it Qiliania graffini “in honor of Dr. Gregory Graffin, PhD: paleontologist, evolutionary biologist, professor, rock star, and inspiration to numerous budding and established scientists around the world,” said Dr. Jingmai O’Connor, one of the discoverers.
