Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman has issued a statement on Twitter in regards to yesterday’s reports that they were working on new material, which were eventually denied by frontman Patrick Stump. Joe sets the record straight, saying:
“If you don’t know what that turn of phrase means: the rumors are unfounded and untrue. If something actually is going on, we’ll tell you!”
Fall Out Boy, who went on hiatus back in 2009, last released Folie à Deux in 2008 on Island Records.

Thank God you guys are not reuniting. Fall Out Boy was a very interesting band when I first heard of them, but Christ, it’s that simple: they suck.
What a tragedy. I don’t know how I’ll go on.
