Matt Skiba announces kid-friendly punk side project with Mark Hoppus

During his recent appearance on Darren Rose Radio, Alkaline Trio guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba announced he and Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 have started recording an album of kid-friendly punk songs for a new project called The Cereal Killers! One of the songs, which is apparently titled “I Want To Be A Spider,” is about a little boy who wishes he was a spider so he could scare the girls in his class.

Don’t believe me? Head over here to listen to the full interview, in which Skiba also mentions having finished recording a new solo album.

We’ll keep you posted as more details on this sure-to-be-awesome project come to light. Alkaline Trio’s latest album My Shame Is True was last year through Epitaph Records, and Blink 182 recently began working on a new record.
