No Use for a Name announce official breakup

Following the recent passing of frontman/guitarist Tony Sly, No Use for a Name have officially split up as the surviving members have decided not to perform under their name without Tony.

The “split” was allegedly confirmed by bassist Matt Riddle at the Macadam Festival in Quebec, Canada last Saturday (September 8th), which was held as a benefit show for Tony and where the surviving members reunited on stage. At the show, Matt said, “this is it, this is the last No Use For a Name show ever.” Following receiving disapproval from the crowd, he added, “No one wants to do this without Tony.”

No Use for a Name last released The Feel Good Record of the Year in 2008 on Fat Wreck Chords, although they were reportedly working on a new album by the time Sly died.
