Zoli Teglas, front man of hardcore punk band Ignite, is to fill in as vocalist for Pennywise for the 2009 Smokeout Festival in San Bernadino, California on October 23rd and 24th while the band still looks for a new lead singer. This will be Pennywise’s first big show since singer Jim Lindberg split after 19 years with the band. Pennywise will be playing with bands like Slipknot, Cypress Hill and Sublime (with new lead singer, Rome) among many others at the festival.
Regarding the temporary replacement, guitarist Fletcher Dragge says:
As everybody knows, Jim has left the band and we’re looking for a new singer. For the time being our friend Zoli has agreed to fill in for Jim for a couple shows to avoid having to cancel them while we look for a permanent replacement.
Zoli Teglas says:
I’m stoked to be singing these upcoming shows with Pennywise. I’m a huge fan of the band and am super grateful to share the stage with my long time friends Fletcher, Byron, and Randy.
