Suicidal Tendencies to be joined by Dave Lombardo on Megadeth tour

Venice, California crossover thrash/hardcore punk legends Suicidal Tendencies just announced on their Facebook page that former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo will be filling in for Eric Moore on their upcoming U.S. tour with Megadeth, Children of Bodom and Havok. The tour kicks off this Friday (February 26th) in Las Vegas, and the dates/locations can be found below.

For those who don’t know, Lombardo is no stranger to the Suicidal guys. Their friendship with Slayer dates back to the early 80’s; their singer/bassist Tom Araya appeared in the video for “Institutionalized“, and they took Suicidal out on the “Clash of the Titans” tour in Europe in 1990 (along with Megadeth and Testament). Along with his late bandmate Jeff Hanneman, Lombardo played in the short-lived punk rock band Pap Smear with then-Suicidal guitarist Rocky George in the mid-80’s; their songs “Can’t Stand You” and “D.D.A.M.M.” would be re-recorded on Slayer’s 1996 covers album Undisputed Attitude.

Suicidal Tendencies have reportedly been working on new material for their follow-up to 2013’s 13. Frontman Mike Muir recently stated that he hopes the new album will be released soon.
