The Offspring thinking about doing a 20th anniversary tour for “Smash”

2014 may still be far but The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland revealed in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone Brasil that a 20th anniversary tour to celebrate the release of their iconic album Smash is in the cards. Here’s what he had to say (I translated the page from Portuguese to English):

“This year we did some shows playing the album Ignition to celebrate its 20th anniversary, so it would only be natural for us to do the same thing with Smash, right? I love that album and people across the world do, too, so it will be fun when the moment comes. Why not do it?”

Smash was originally released on April 8, 1994 (which happened to be the same day Kurt Cobain died) on Epitaph Records. Thanks to their biggest hit “Come Out and Play“, the album has managed to sell over 12 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling independent label records of all time. Last June, The Offspring released their latest album Days Go By on Columbia.
