DS Exclusive: ATFN premiere new lyric video, “Divine Contraption”

South African progressive melodic punk hybrid, ATFN (All This For Nothing) is back after a twelve year hiatus to release a new 6-track EP titled Reverence. The EP is dedicated to singer/guitarist Paul Gioia’s former girlfriend, one Marne Esson, who he says, “sadly lost the battle against a darkened mind” in March 2018. That tragic incident was the catalyst for ATFN’s resurgence. “When Paul suffered the loss of his girlfriend Marne Esson in March 2018, drummer Francois Lessing reached out to him and suggested that they reform the band to begin to work on
music as a means of healing through familiar, positive musical connections.” (EPK)

Reverence releases on December 6 with pre-orders available here. All proceeds from album sales will go towards Sparrow’s Rescue Center, described as “a place of refuge and healing for people and animals,” set up in loving remembrance by Marne’s mother.

Today, ATFN is premiering the lyric video for “Divine Contraption”, which is the first single off their upcoming EP. Gioia describes it as “a testimony of love, hope and remembrance to a soul who only enriched our lives and will hopefully inspire those suffering with depression to seek help in family, friends or professionals.” Lessing adds, “This track to me is the first in the current ‘band energy’. It is definitely up a notch in pretty much every department. There was a definiteness of intention, that seems to have engulfed the whole band when we started to work on it.” Stream All This For Nothing’s “Divine Contraption” lyric video below.
