DS Exclusive: The Blanche Davidians premiere new song, “Copaganda”

Here’s one, “Copaganda” – a new track from a band brought to you first by Dying Scene, The Blanche Davidians. It’s a harmonious skate punk anthem dedicated to those who “protect and serve”.

The band’s last release, “Alex Jonestown Massacre”, made headlines and a lot of headway for a group leaning heavily on the spooky, mysterious side of the occult. “Copaganda” comes out this Thursday, and will be available for streaming on their bandcamp page. Of course, you can check it out a few days early below. (Lucky you!) Their debut EP, Placeholder, will be out March 20.

It’s funny how it’s the little things that change in small town law enforcement – just slight semantics.  “To protect and serve” has become “We protect and serve” enforcing their service through dictation stylized as factual which could otherwise leave too much room for reprisal. This song is inspired by an instance of what could be noted as an implementation of unnecessary force, at the very least introducing an apparent perpetrator into a broken system of bureaucratic  haberdashery – and I ain’t talking suits. Well… it’s the suits who own the law enforcement, so maybe I am. Draft your own opinions for yourselves.
